With this sponsorship RE/MAX Paradise Homes Bonaire wants to contribute to the growth and professionalization of this recreational and fun sport on Bonaire. The 2025 Pickleball season consists of five tournaments that will take place throughout the year. The tournaments are open to the entire community of Bonaire. Think residents of the island, but also visitors and of course active sports enthusiasts. The first tournament is as early as July 6. The remaining four tournaments will take place later this year.
What is Pickleball
Pickleball is a fast-growing racquet sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. The sport was conceived in the United States in 1965 as a family-friendly game that could be played in the backyard. Since then, the sport has expanded across all continents.
Players use a paddle, which resembles a large table tennis bat. The ball is perforated plastic and the net between the two halves of the court hangs lower than in tennis. You can play pickleball both singles and doubles. The rules of pickleball are simple, making the sport suitable for players of all ages and levels.
Pickleball Bonaire has been active for several years and is a rapidly growing sport on the island. Pickleball Bonaire offers multiple training sessions per week, both mornings and evenings, at two locations on Bonaire.
Our colleague Paulo Allee is an active member of Pickleball Bonaire and Organising Chairman. He also won the pickleball tournament on Bonaire at the end of last year.

Would you also like to participate in the first RE/MAX Pickleball doubles tournament? If so, please register before June 29 with our colleague Paulo (+599 700 0958) or Henk (+599 780 8540). The tournament will be held on July 6, 2025 and will start at 8:00 a.m. at the Jorge Nicolaas Sports Hall on the Kaya Amsterdam in Bonaire. The entree fee is 15 USD.
