First edition of Taste of Bonaire on April 4

On Friday, April 4, the first edition of this year's Taste of Bonaire will be held. The theme this time is culture.

Taste of Bonaire is a popular event on the island. Both people who live on Bonaire and visitors to the island come time and again in large numbers to this cozy event. For Taste of Bonaire, the Wilhelmina Park, in the center of Kralendijk, is transformed into an atmospheric event location. The square, and the area around it, will be completely free of traffic so you can enjoy strolling around.

During the event there are dozens of stands where you can enjoy delicious food. Both local specialties and international cuisines will be featured. You can taste typical Bonairean dishes such as sòpi (soup) or kabritu stobà (goat stew). There are also stands offering Greek or Asian dishes. Portions are usually not too large, giving you the chance to try different delicacies at different stands.

Tip: Want to be sure where to find the tastiest food? Look for the stand with the longest line, then you'll know you're in the right place.

In addition to plenty of food, there are also stands where you can buy the tastiest drinks. Will you opt for a cold local beer, a refreshing juice from a coconut or still a tasty cocktail? The choice is enormous. There are also stands where you can buy fun Bonaire souvenirs, jewelry, plants and other gadgets.

Entertainment

Of course, there is also plenty of entertainment. During Taste of Bonaire, local bands perform and there are regular dance groups to admire.

Taste of Bonaire will be held at Wilhelmina Park, in the center of Kralendijk. The culinary event begins at 6 p.m. and lasts until 10 p.m. on Friday, April 4. The event is free of charge and suitable for young and old.
